So, I'm a native New Yorker. Born at Mt. Siani, lived on the Upper East Side as a wee one. That's one reason why I shout for Jersey, the burbs, and places that aren't the best city in the world.

But there are someways I will never be 100% new yawkah. ( I know no one says it like that, like no one says 'joizy') I'm not ashamed. Just not 100%

So one thing about my part of Brooklyn is just how frackin' many people live on top of each other. It's not quite aleays as obvious as it is in other parts of the city.. the relatively low buildings are one factor... but we got busloads of folks.

And sadly, they're not always tidy.

So I'm on the 6 train up to my doc's, nothing to worry about- honest, and it is packed just to get out. Like a decent band had just finished a set on the uptown track, and everyone was waiting for coatcheck.

So I got Offbalace across from me, and the Hudson River to my right. And it's good.

One of my favorite things has been the MetroNorth train along the Hudson. The city fades, the majesty of the Palisades, the pure wonder of the mighty Hudson itself.

True, you get downtown Yonkers and industrial Bronx. But you also get some lovely industrial ruins.

I was just shouting across two subway tracks, waving four fingers in the air like some NWA fan from the early '90's just out of a coma.

Why?

Because some dufus dressed like a Kid'NPlay fan out of a coma was ignoring the overhead speakers and flood of humanity fleeing the center 4/5 tracks for the 2/3 tracks.
